1st Blog Giveaway!! (**CONTEST ENDED**)

After over a year of blogging on Daily Deliciousness, I have never had anything to give away...until now!!

Last Tuesday, I was able to attend a free preview screening of the movie Julie & Julia. My lovely friend Lisa won the passes from our local newspaper, The Detroit News and wanted to take little ol' me with her. I had been wanting to see this movie since I had first heard about it and read the book. The movie was phenomenal. Of course, it was different from the book, however, I enjoyed the split story between Julie/Julia, learning a lot about Julia Child that I hadn't known before. I was captivated by the delicious food, I could almost smell it through the screen! I would recommend this to any foodie, food blogger and everyone and anyone interested in food in general.

Part of the screening experience was a meet & greet with the food writer for The Detroit News, a goody bag with an apron and bookmark inside and a strolling reception with some delicious appetizers. The generous people at The Detroit News have sent me a SECOND GOODY BAG to share with my lovely readers!! You can win a reusable tote bag, an apron and a bookmark of your very own.

I was inspired to cook because cooking was not something appreciated in my home when I was a kid. It was taken for granted and I wanted to make it an important happening in our household.

FOOD! As lame as that sounds, food inspires me to cook. I love discovering new vegetables, and new ways to prepare them.

What has inspired me to cook is the desire to make my husband happy- that is what inspired me 9 years ago when I knew nothing and had to learn how all the basics, and now, to try new things and make our meals healthier! thanks!

I was inspired to cook by a desire to eat healthy foods that weren't a focus of dinners during my childhood.

I was inspired to cook because my mom wasn't a big cook. My grandaunts raised me and they made everything by hand. So now I am really into cooking and baking and making everything from scratch. Email: yudith_opel@yahoo.com

I was inspired to cook by my husband. His mom used to cook all the time and he was used to these nice dinners. My mom doesn't cook, so I never had anyone to teach me. I set out to teach myself. And I'm not too bad if I don't say so myself.

My great-grandma inspired me to cook - now I do it because I love making healthy things for me & my hubby. Though, every once in a while I get the urge to make something of my gram's that's NOT healthy :)

It wasn't what inspired me to cook but who inspired me to cook: My grandmother and my Aunt Valeria. No one in my family cooks with their passion. One day I just woke up and decided I wanted to cook like them (much to my family's surprise).

My son has inspired me to cook. Not only do I want to instill healthy eating habits in him, I also want him to always think back on his Mom as a great cook.

My friends, family, and co-workers have inspired me to cook (and bake). More often than not, I make things to share with my fiance' or friends. I'll also bring baked goods into work and the positive feedback that I get from everyone makes me excited to continue trying new things!

I have always loved cooking so I guess I could say I am my own inspiration. Now who inspired me to start and share my recipes via through my blog now that would Paula Deen. Just to see her cook and share it with her family and the world is such a nice feeling. I want to pass my love of cooking to my next generation, my children and hope that they will do the same with their children and share all the wonderful stories with their kids about our times together cooking this and cooking that. Paula has a love for food and family which go hand in hand in my book she truly is my inspiration and my girl.

My mother was an amazing cook. When she passed away I had just gotten married and was beginning to come into my own. Now I cook for her and her memory. I feel close to her in the kitchen because that is where she loved to be.

A couple of things inspired me to start cooking. First I wanted to something with my own "me" time that makes me happy and is productive. And... you! You cook wonderful things, and make them look easy and really make me feel like with your help, and advice I can do this! Thank you!!!!

My Grandmother. Since both of my parents worked as I grew up (on different shifts), I spent alot of time with her. She loved to cook and taught me how to bake. Everytime I smell cookies in the oven, I think of her.

I was inspired to learn to cook when I started dating my husband. He loves to eat and I wanted to make interesting things for him. I'm always experimenting now.

My mom for sure. But I didn't become passionate about cooking until I got married, so my husband has definitely inspired me.

I think the whole idea of conquering food has been my inspriation. To roast a whole chicken, make enchilada sauce and taco seasoning instead of buying the canned/packet version, saving vegetable parts to make my won broth...the idea that food is more of a process than a quick convienience really inspires me. My parents were also both great cooks and taught me to love good, fresh, healthy food!

I’m inspired to cook because I truly enjoy preparing and eating food that looks beautiful on the plate. I love food that looks exquisite and has a warm presentation. My family has a hardy appetite and watching the look on my family’s face and hearing their “mmm’s and ahh’s”, just makes me feel special. I adore watching the food network and searching for recipes online. I’m enthused to cook because it makes me feel appreciated.
